The ASC's mission is to ensure that all Wayne State University students become self-determined learners who graduate prepared to achieve their professional and personal goals. We accomplish this through instruction and services that support students' development of skills and habits to achieve academic excellence.
APEX Scholars is an alternative admissions program designed to bridge the gap between high school and college. The program is based on the philosophy that students who are interested, committed, and willing to invest the time and effort, will succeed academically when provided with appropriate support services.
We are dedicated to meeting the career needs of students, alumni, employers, and the community. With a common sense of purpose, we collaboratively assist with navigating and exploring career options, understanding and implementing the necessary steps to pursue any type of job, and knowing how to advocate for opportunities in the workplace throughout your career. We work to promote student retention and success through career management, university and community collaborations, and the assessment of learning outcomes.
Our mission is to form partnerships with students that successfully improve student learning and engagement. These learning experiences produce outcomes that empower students to overcome academic, class, social and cultural barriers to success in higher education.
Student Disability Services (SDS) serves as a resource for the Wayne State University community to ensure academic access and inclusion for students, supporting a view of disability guided by social, cultural and political forces. We work to create an inclusive academic environment by promoting universal design throughout the university. We provide academic accommodations, resources and training in assistive technology to foster self-advocacy and success for students with disabilities. We share information to foster understanding of disability throughout the university community.
The purpose of the SSOE team is to generate trust, understanding, confidence and goodwill to foster change that is more sustainable, scalable and enduring. SSOE helps to shape and operationalize the overarching Student Success strategy and vision.
