Personnel transactions

The Office of Faculty Affairs and Development is responsible for academic personnel human resources and labor functions for academic staff, faculty, academic administrators, part-time faculty, voluntary faculty, graduate teaching assistants, research assistants/associates, and medical residents.

Financial Operations Committee

Effective April 2023 the Financial Operations Committee (FOC) was established. The FOC meets weekly and is comprised of the CFO, Provost, Chief HR Officer, and Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs.

FOC approval is required for the following actions related to academic positions fully or partially funded by general or designated funds.

  • Salary increases over 5%
  • Any new, vacant, or replacement tenure, tenure track, and non-tenure track academic hires (academic staff, faculty, and some academic administrator positions) not pre-approved as part of the annual FY hiring plan

FOC approval is requested by completing an Academic Hiring Request form (AHF).
