Procedures for external evaluators

A template and procedure for writing and submission of the External Evaluators' report can be found here.

During an Academic Program Review, External Evaluators are asked to keep in mind the university's goal to maintain and enhance its position as a major research institution while meeting its responsibilities to the citizens of Michigan and residents of Detroit. Evaluators are asked in particular to review the unit's research/creative activity, academic programs, faculty, and students.

Evaluators are asked to address the following six categories during the review:

  1. Mission and Strategic Plan
  2. Management Operations
  3. Academic Programs
  4. Faculty
  5. Students
  6. External Relations

Wayne State arranges all transportation and covers all costs for travel, lodging, and meals for External Evaluators. Questions regarding Academic Program Review should be directed to apr@wayne.edu or (313) 577-0167.
